Master Black Belt - Operations Manager; You'll be working side by
side with the VP of Global Lean. This position will lead into VP of
Operations!
In this position we are seeking a candidate that has managed
a team of 100+, has a strong operations and manufacturing background, has had
direct line experience, Lean Production management, and has their certification
as a Black Belt or Master Black Belt. You must live and breathe lean
manufacturing!
There is travel up to 50% in the beginning, and there is a
great potential that you would be asked to relocate to one of their 13 sites –
relo is likely after 12 to 24 months. As for travel, fly out on a Monday or
Sunday evening, back home on Friday mid afternoon. Position is open because of
promotion.
Some of the highlighted skills that are needed:
• Hands on with: Operations, Manufacturing environment and
Lean Six Sigma (must be lean certified)
• Experience in developing and implementing strategies,
process leading edge technologies
• Kaizen, 5S, SMED, Kaban, DMAIC, and VSM
• Plant and Operations management including P&L
responsibilities - full profit and loss responsibility (wall to wall) for an
operating unit – multiple sites would be needed
• Lean Six Sigma demonstrated strong change management
skills in continuous improvement,/process improvement
• Proven management skills
• Engineering Degree – Preferred - MBA even better
• Process Industry experience.
Process
Engineer – Manufacturing - Process Metallurgical Engineer
Reporting to
Quality Manager & Process Engineering
Role: *Develop,
evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods for complex metal manufacturing
process, such as casting, rolling, annealing and slitting of copper & brass
products. *Apply
knowledge of products, process, production methods, equipment capabilities, and
quality control standards to meet or exceed customer requirements and
manufacturing cost reduction goals. *Perform
a variety of task. *A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Manager all aspects of the process quality
systems and metallurgical testing.
Principal accountability: *Responsible
for leading and/or assisting in the development and implementation of process
improvements intended to improve productivity and/or efficiency of
manufacturing. *In-depth
understanding of the manufacturing process employed by the company to
facilitate effectiveness in troubleshooting and problem solving within
manufacturing plants
*Direct
development and implementation of process and process changes to ensure
products conform to specifications. *Support,
encourage, participate, and lead employee involvement in continuous improvement
activities including Lean Manufacturing activities.
*Apply
statistical methods to improve manufacturing processes and capabilities.
*Maintain
and improve equipment SOP’s based on equipment needs and results from
laboratory testing and process data.
*Support
and coordinate all ISO activities to maintain plant certifications.
Qualifications: *Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required –
Prefer Metallurgical, Materials Science or Mechanical engineering with a
minimum of five years of manufacturing industry experience. *Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Continuous
improvement/Six Sigma – Certification is preferred

MAINTENANCE
MANAGER PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
There
is a New/current opening with my client’s Texas Plant – North of Dallas. They’re an Extrusion, Casting, Fabrication
facility which has been in operation since 1967 and heavily involved in
products for the transportation (automotive) industry.
This
position is responsible for managing the Maintenance Department efficiently to
control costs and provide a service factor level suitable to meet the plant’s
business needs, while also ensuring safety and environmental standards are
maintained. This position supervises
bargaining unit employees on all shifts, which includes delegating and
directing in a team environment to foster a continuous improvement atmosphere. This position is responsible for the
implementation of the CMMS and PM System within it. This position has oversight of the storeroom
and is responsible for developing and maintaining spare parts inventory. This position is instrumental in the life
cycle of Major Maintenance and Capital projects and will lead and manage
projects as needed. This person must be
able to utilize why/why analysis and other methodologies in an effort to
eliminate equipment breakdowns.
This
is a full-time, Staff Support position that reports to the Engineering
Manager.
SELECTION
CRITERIA
BS Degree in Engineering
discipline required (Mechanical or Electrical) 3 years minimum in a
manufacturing environment (aluminum industry experience a plus)3 years minimum in a supervisory
position Must be able to read schematic
drawings Experience with PLC programming
and instrumentation Project Management experience Hands on experience with
preventive and predictive maintenance techniques Strong interpersonal and
communication skills; must communicate effectively with production and maintenance
employees; teach and lead department employeesExperience in directing outside
contractors, vendors and OEMs; selection of theseWork with minimal supervision and
prioritize workloads and deadlinesStrong computer skills in MS
Office, AutoCAD or similar design softwareStrong problem solving
